We Have Her!!!!!

What......a......day.........I'm not sure how to even put into words all that went on. But it was all we ever thought it would be and NOTHING we thought it would be at the same time! The day started early for me. 4:30am. I just couldn't sleep in anticipation of getting Adiah(go figure!!). We met the rest of our travel group for breakfast at 7:15 and then we prayed together for the day ahead of us. I love that we are with a group who we can do this with! We left the hotel at 8:30 and it was a 20 minute drive from the hotel to the CCAA. Jane, our guide, helped us cross the CRAZY street! These people drive nutzo! Anyway, we rode up to the 7th floor and right when we got off the elevator Jane went in a room and came out and said "All 3 babies are here!". Seriously...I pretty much lost it. We walked in this room and there were about 10 babies in there. Because the last picture I have of Adiah is from when she was 8 months old I wasn't sure if I would recognize her. I went ahead and took a picture of the group of babies closest to the door but she wasn't in that little group. The other 2 families received their babies first. We were camera men for them. And then Jane said for us to turn around and there was Adiah! She looked just like she did in the picture. Just a little longer hair and thinner. She has a cut on her eyebrow so they began explaining to us what had happened in Chinese. Seriously, I wasn't paying attention! I just couldn't believe we were laying eyes on this precious one! They put her in my arms and I'm not sure what happened after that! Good thing we have video! I do remember thinking how tiny she felt. She didn't cry at all at first. She just took in her surroundings. She began to cry a little after a while and boy the crocodile tears. Huge ones! With a very very sad look on her face. So the whole thing took about 20 minutes and then we left. We went straight to a grocery type store and bought some necessities for the babies. But then we came back to the hotel and she was fine for a while. Not so much anymore. Some serious grieving going on for this little girl. We can't get her to eat anything at all. We even ordered some egg custard stuff she supposedly likes but nothing will make her happy. She seems better with Brian than she does with me. Actually he just told me he got her to eat 3 bites of a cereal bar. Progress! I do realize this will take some time. Everything she ever knew is gone. We did find out today that she is terrified of strangers. And timid. And loves to cry. This is going to be fun! But you know what? That was before she had a mommy and a daddy. I believe once she becomes comfortable with us things will change. May take a long time but I look forward to seeing the progress we make even this week! God is so good....we have our 4th child!! Thank you Jesus, for the gift of parenthood. My heart is so full! Oh by the way, I changed her pants because her others reeked of tee-tee. When I put on her 12 month jeans I brought they were too big! She is totally more tiny than I thought! She is the oldest of the 3 babies here but the smallest physically. Pray for us that we will find things to help nourish her body. Ok...enough typing & on to the pictures!!

Gotcha moment!

Happy mommy with baby!

It is hard to type when you can't see the keys. She is so beautiful and sweet looking. I'M IN LOVE.

Hurry home.

We are praying diligently for her heart to be changed, that fear be driven out, that LOVE is allowed in and she will open up her heart to the two of you so big and gloriously. And of course to all of us who wait on this side to see her and love her.

Please come quickly.

I am absolutely bawling as I watch the video and read your update. In the midst of my hum-drum day making pb&j for my own little brood, I am in awe of the sweet little miracle God has given you. I know that God will give Adiah peace and joy with the family that He has so richly blessed her with. Now that you'll be closer to your sister, I hope to meet Adiah in person sometime soon. Congratulations!
